- Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?
-> In the novel, "Fahrenheit 451", there are a lot of special characters. Briefly, I will talk about three main characters in this novel. The first main character of the book is Guy Montag. He was a fireman. The fireman's duty was to burn all the books and all the houses when people read books and get caught. He felt great about his job. But as the time went by, Guy Montag was curious that why he had to burn all the books. Later, he realized that he was doing wrong things. The wrong things were such as burning books and houses. So he decided to change the world. I like his attitude, because he was really brave enough to change the world. He was challenging to the government. The second main character of the book is Beatty. He was the head of the fire station where Guy Montag worked. He knew what was going on in the world. He knew that all the things such as burning books and burning houses were wrong. He knew that he had to change the world, but he didn't have any courage. He was not brave enough to challenge to the world. Later, Beatty gave up his life and died. I really did not like Beatty, because even though he knew the world's government was wrong, he didn't even try to change the world. He was just scared to change the world. The last character is Clarisse. She was Guy Montag's neighbor, and she was seventeen years old. She was different from other girls in her age. She had deep thinking, and she was serious about every single things. She is the one that made Montag realize every single things going on the world. Actually she helped Montag to save the world. I also liked Clarisse, because she was not people like who are lazy. There were lots of things that I could learn about the main characters in the novel. They showed me how to behave when something goes wrong.
